The works comprise of two concrete frame buildings, establishing 143 apartments on a 0.24-hectare site at the junction of Blossom Street and Great Ancoats Street, Manchester.
The scheme of two separate buildings, one eight-storeys tall and one seven-storeys tall, provide a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as three town houses.
From a construction standpoint the footprint of approximately 400 square metres of double height ground floor commercial space, and the constraints of the city centre site have called for special measures. A methodical logistics plan, with a detailed and considered program was established, as well as a complex crane strategy to include the use of both a mobile crane and a tower crane erected within a constructed stair core.
- Logistically challenging city centre location
