PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This energy from waste facility in Croydon was awarded by existing client Lagan Construction. Cidon’s experience and expertise in this sector was instrumental in securing this contract.

The plant is scheduled for completion in 2017, when it will begin treating household residual waste from the South London Waste Partnership –comprising of Croydon, Kingston, Merton, and Sutton borough councils.

It will be generating capacity of 26MW, supplying electricity to the National Grid and the potential for usable heat for the local industry or housing, producing enough power for around 30,000 homes.

UNIQUE FEATURES

  • Bunker walls incorporating buttress columns and corbels, jump formed with PERI CB 240 & Trio Panel system.
  • Integration of precast concrete solutions within the design facilitated a reduction in the number of high risk operations for complex elements within this structure.
